But these lovelies are rustic and down-home looking. So, I’ve decided to price them lower than I do for pieces burned on more refined wood.

To be honest, the darkened background and lettering does take up a considerable chunk of time.

But I still spend hours and hours on getting the shading just right, so that each portrait is a very close reflection of the subject’s personality.
